TOWNSEND — Superintendent Brad Morgan is pleased to report that North Middlesex Regional High School will once again participate in a Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics of Massachusetts.
WHEN:
Friday, March 7 at 3 p.m.
WHERE:
North Middlesex Regional High School, 19 Main St, Townsend, MA 01469
WHO:
Any student, staff member or faculty member from the North Middlesex Regional School District
WHAT:
Special Olympics of Massachusetts will once again bring its Bear Force One mobile Polar Plunge trailer to North Middlesex Regional High School, so that students, faculty and staff from North Middlesex Regional Schools can raise funds for Unified Sports and other Special Olympics of Massachusetts programs.
Participants can register to jump as individuals or as members of a team, or they can join the North Middlesex Unified Athletics team. To register, click here.
Participants agree to raise pledges in exchange for jumping into the frigid waters of the Polar Plunge under the watchful eye of a diver and local firefighters. Last year’s Polar Plunge at North Middlesex Regional High School raised more than $10,600 for Special Olympics of Massachusetts.
In addition to the Polar Plunge, there will be local food trucks on hand at the high school, and they will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the North Middlesex Unified Sports programs. There will also be a bake sale supporting the New York Service Learning group at North Middlesex Regional High School.
Anyone with questions is urged to contact Mandy Connor at mconnor@nmrsd.org or Jess Boccelli at jboccelli@nmrsd.org.
